The Arctic State Agrotechnological University plans to establish a center for innovative technologies for deep processing of raw materials and integrated use of Arctic natural resources in 2027, the rector of the university Valery Fedorov told TASS.
"In 2027, we plan to establish a center for innovative technologies for deep processing of raw materials and integrated use of Arctic bio-resources. It will research technologies for the rational processing of dairy and meat raw materials in Yakutia, study the biochemical potential of northern wild plants, develop technologies for the rational processing of products of northern domestic reindeer husbandry, herd horse breeding and northern cattle breeding," Fedorov said.
He clarified that scientists also plan to develop technologies for meat and fish products from unique raw materials with a long shelf life using atmospheric freeze-drying technologies. Among other tasks of the new center are the development of new varieties of crops resistant to the climatic conditions of the North, the operation and maintenance of unmanned aircraft systems of small and medium class, information transmission and processing systems in the conditions of the North, the introduction of digital technologies in agriculture of the republic.
