A recent survey conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) reveals a surge in interest among Russians for Arctic tourism. Nearly half of the respondents (45%) believe that the Arctic region offers favorable conditions for travel. Notably, younger individuals expressed even greater enthusiasm, with 12% deeming the conditions for tourism in the Arctic as very favorable.
Despite the region's harsh climate and remote location, an increasing number of Russians are finding the Arctic an appealing destination for vacations. Experts attribute this growing interest to a rising global trend towards eco-tourism and a desire among individuals to explore the unique natural beauty of the northern latitudes.
