According to Anfisa Nikiforova, Head of Indigenous Peoples of the North at Norilsk Nickel’s Polar Division, this year’s plans have not only been 100% fulfilled, but the company is ahead of schedule in housing construction in the Taimyr villages: open and constructive dialogue, during which we can openly put forward ideas and jointly implement them. There are many initiatives coming from the communities, which is very pleasing. Moreover, today 18 projects are being implemented on the territory of Taimyr with the support of the company. This is primarily the development of traditional types of economic activity. Next year, at the initiative of the communities, Norilsk Nickel plans to purchase beams for production sites.”
Recall that the company's projects as a whole cover seven areas: the development of traditional types of economic activities of indigenous ethnic groups, housing construction in settlements, healthcare, education, culture, sports, and tourism. In total, the program included more than 40 events.
