NSR to host first transit voyage from China to Europe

The Northern Sea Route (NSR) will host the first container transit voyage from a Chinese port to European ports, said Vladimir Panov, Deputy Chairman of the State Commission for Arctic Development.

"On September 15 this year, for the first time in the history of the NSR, a container transit voyage is being prepared along this route from the port of Ningbo in China for unloading in the intermediate ports of Felixstowe, Rotterdam and Hamburg," he said.

According to Panov, the voyage is scheduled to be completed on October 17-20 in St. Petersburg.
