Norilsk Nickel has begun accepting applications for its World of New Opportunities program - a competition of the social projects in the regions where the company’s enterprises operate.

“The competition has long been a driver of social development in the territories where Norilsk Nickel operates. This year, the company is maintaining a grant fund for the implementation of local community initiatives in the amount of 155 million rubles,” noted Irina Zhuykova, Director of the Social Policy Department of Norilsk Nickel.

Non-profit organizations, state and municipal institutions, as well as individuals (for example, corporate volunteers) can take part in the competition and receive a grant to support social responsibility initiatives in the amount of 100,000 - 6,500,000 rubles. Applications for the competition can be submitted until November 5, and the results will be announced and published on January 14, 2025.

The competition features nine nominations. They cover various areas of public sector, such as the development of the volunteer movement and social support for the most vulnerable segments of the population; the introduction of new methods and technologies for working with children, teenagers and young people; the improvement and reconstruction of public spaces; the preservation and revival of cultural heritage; the promotion of a healthy lifestyle; the formation of an environmental culture; and improving the quality of services of non-profit organizations.

This January, Norilsk Nickel summed up the results of the previous round of the program. The company will finance 112 social responsibility initiatives in the cities where it operates, 11 of which will be implemented in Taimyr.
