More than 200.000 people participate in the multi-format competition for students "Ticket to the Arctic".

The main prize – a trip to a scientific expedition to the Kola Peninsula – will be awarded to 10 authors of the most relevant and interesting projects for the development of this region. More than 400 people have already offered their ideas, gazeta.ru reports.

The contest participants virtually explore an interactive map of the Arctic in a specially designed VKontakte mini-application "Ticket to the Arctic".

More than 110.000 participants found at least one of the 33 items representing the Russian Arctic on the map. Among them are the Chelyuskin steamship, the nuclear icebreaker, the Pasvik Nature Reserve, the Kola ultra–deep Well and the Severnaya Zemlya archipelago. Almost 68.000 participants managed to find all the hidden artifacts.

The next stage of the competition is online testing in the application. 7.000 participants have already tested their knowledge, more than half – 4.000 - coped with this task brilliantly and scored 9 out of 10 possible points.

To win a trip to the Arctic, you need to pass an online test in the mini-application "Ticket to the Arctic" by August 21, 2023 with a result of at least 9 correct answers. After that, the participant should fill out a project application, offering his idea for the development and study of the Arctic.

The authors of the 30 best projects will present their works to the jury. Following the results of the public defense of the projects, 10 winners will go on a scientific expedition to the Kola Peninsula.
