"Akademik Tryoshnikov" is heading to Antarctica

The research expedition ship will deliver 560 tons of cargo, including for the construction of a new wintering complex at Vostok Station.

The press service of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute reported that the crew of the R/V Akademik Tryoshnikov included 42 people. On board the ship, 25 members of the wintering staff of Novolazarevskaya and Bellingshausen stations are also going to Antarctica.

The ship will pass through three oceans: Atlantic, Indian and Southern. Approximately on March 26, the NES will arrive at the port of Cape Town.
