Two hundred tourists, despite the difficult weather conditions at the start, climbed the Romantics Glacier on Saturday - one of the most interesting and picturesque sites in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, which is among the Top 1000 cultural and tourist brands in Russia.

In summer, the glacier melts and partially turns into a lake about 300 meters wide and 61 meters deep.

This year, both residents of Yamal and guests from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, the Komi Republic, Khanty-Mansiysk, Yekaterinburg, Tyumen and even the Netherlands participated in the ascent, said Olga Filipenkova, managing director of the Center for Tourism Development in the Polar Urals.

A walk to the glacier and back, accompanied by instructors, takes from 4 to 6 hours.

It is popular among tourists not only to see the glacier and take beautiful photos, but also to practice SUP surfing on a mountain lake.
