The youth gastronomic festival of the national cuisine of the indigenouspeoples of the North "Nyan Fest" will be held on August 9-10 in the ecoparknear Salekhard. "Nyan" in translationfrom many languages of the indigenous peoples of the North of Russia means "bread".
The event is designed to introducevisitors to traditional and modernrecipes of Yamal dishes, the pressservice of the Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District reported.
Young chefs and cooks from amongthe indigenous peoples of the Northaged from 18 to 35 years old will be able to take part in the festival anddemonstrate their skills.
The festival provides three maindirections: gastronomy, culture andsports. Guests will enjoy workshops onbaking shaneg, an evening of bardsongs by Yamal performers, a footballmatch and other events.
