Svetlana Radionova, head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Nature Management, announced the holding of a competition for installations of a polar bear, the mascot of the international children's and youth award "Ecology is everyone's business".

"The polar bear is the mascot of the award. To draw attention to the topic of preserving the living symbol of the Arctic, I am announcing a competition for the best installation of a polar bear," Radionova said.

According to her, the authors of the best works will be named in November 2023.

The International Children's and Youth Award "Ecology is everyone's business" was established by Rosprirodnadzor in 2021 and is awarded for non-standard ideas, initiatives and projects for environmental conservation, careful attitude to nature and popularization of ecological culture.

Over the first two years, more than 55.000 applications were received for participation in the competition from Russia and 38 countries of the near and far abroad, including Venezuela, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico and Peru. The geography of the project covers four continents – Eurasia, Africa, North and South America.

The winners and prize-winners of the project will receive valuable gifts, as well as a ticket to the All-Russian children's center "Orlyonok".

Applications for participation in the competition are accepted from March 1 to October 1 on the ecologyiseveryone website.
