Get ready for an explosion of street culture and local flavors as Vladivostok gears up to host the first-ever "May Fest" international street culture festival. Scheduled to take place on May 11-12 at the "Okean" Center, the event promises an unforgettable experience for art enthusiasts, foodies, and music lovers.
Emerging from its roots as the "Midia Summit," May Fest has transformed into a grand cross-cultural celebration, bringing together a diverse array of talent and passions. From street art aficionados to local food enthusiasts, from dance enthusiasts and street sports fanatics to fashionistas, the festival will cater to a wide range of interests.
The festival's musical lineup will feature a diverse selection of contemporary music genres, ranging from blues and rock to hip-hop, performed by 13 bands from across Russia, stretching from Yekaterinburg to Vladivostok, with the added flair of Chinese performers.
The street art program will unfold in stages, with artists from various regions of the Far East creating five art installations prior to the festival's commencement around the "Okean" Center grounds. The sixth and final art installation, a surprise creation by the organizers, will be brought to life during the festival itself, with the active participation of festival attendees.
Dance jams and battles will add an energetic spark to the concert program, while fashion enthusiasts can delve into the world of contemporary fashion and create unique street-style looks using second-hand clothing, given a new lease of life at a charity event.
The festival's culinary scene will tantalize taste buds with masterclasses showcasing the flavors of Far Eastern cuisine. Local food projects will take center stage at the food court, offering a delectable array of mussels, scallops, Far Eastern and Asian street food.
