The press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources reported that scientists conducted environmental surveys and confirmed the environmental value of the "Snake Cliff" and "Rocky outcrops on the Nilan River". Now these territories can receive the status of specially protected natural objects.

The natural complex "Snake Cliff" in the valley of the Ussuri River is a picturesque place and habitat for rare species of reptiles. Among them are the Far Eastern turtle, the red-backed poloz, the Amur poloz and the Japanese grass snake. Highly decorative rare plant species grow on the cliff: venus's slipper, milk-flowered peony, double-row lily.

The natural complex "Rocky outcrops on the Nilan River" is unique due to the outcrops of rocks composed of durable granodiorites cascading down the slope to the river. Rare plant species in need of protection grow on this territory: the real Venus slipper, the wall stone, the Ayanskaya dawn.

The new status is expected to preserve unique natural sites. The preparation of the necessary documents will begin next year.
