Tour operators exempted from VAT

News
08-02-2023

Since July 1 of this year, operations on the sale of a tourist product in the field of domestic tourism and (or) inbound tourism by an organization engaged in tour operator activity are exempt from value added tax.

Federal law sets excise tax rates for 2024, 2025 and 2026. The relevant amendments to the Tax Code of the Russian Federation were signed by President Vladimir Putin.

Tour operators organizing trips in Russia will be exempt from paying value added tax (VAT) for 3.5 years. However, according to experts, preferential taxation will help make the tour operator business more profitable, but it will not have a significant impact on the income of companies. Therefore, prices for tourists will not decrease, b-port.com notes.
