The total tourist flow of Russia with the SCO countries for nine months amounted to more than 7 million trips

The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development spoke about the results of the conference "Opportunities to expand the geography of cross-border tourist trips within the territories of the SCO (the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation) member states." The participants discussed how the Year of Tourism in the SCO went, as well as other issues.

In particular, they touched upon issues related to the expansion of the geography of cross-border tourist trips, training, improving the quality of services and safety in the field of tourism, preservation and mutual popularization of the natural and cultural heritage of the countries of the association.

Experts noted the growth of the total tourist flow of Russia with the SCO countries. In the three quarters of 2023, it amounted to more than 7 million trips. Among other things, the favorable visa regime and the availability of direct flights between the SCO countries contribute to increasing the volume of tourist exchanges.
