The International exhibition of railway models and models "Railway Model" will open on October 28 at the Moscow Museum of a Special Purpose Garage.

The event is timed to the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Open Joint Stock Company "Russian Railways". Railways, which appeared in Russia back in 1837, have become a symbol of technological progress.

On an area of more than 200 sq. meters will be erected one of the largest operating railway models in Russia.

Domestic modelers will present at the exhibition unique man-made models-copies of railway equipment, recreated from preserved drawings, black-and-white photographs and a few preserved rarities.

Visitors will be able to see the dynamics of operating railway stations, regular train traffic according to the schedule and "model time", fast high-speed trains and slowly crawling freight trains with steam locomotives.

The viewer will immerse himself in the world of an almost real railway with moving trains, traffic lights, the sounds of car crossings, the horns of locomotives and the lights of cities.

A special feature of the current exhibition will be the opportunity not only to observe the movement of miniature trains, but also to try yourself as a locomotive driver on one of the simulators.

During the exhibition, meetings of the country's leading railway modelers, discussion of modern technologies, presentations of new books and author's works, communication with masters of technical miniature are planned.
