In 2023, 40 beach areas were equipped for people with disabilities. All the necessary elements of the barrier-free environment were created on them - convenient entrances, descents to the water, approaches to service facilities.

"The need for inclusiveness of the urban environment is growing, as it concerns not only wheelchair users, but also mothers with children, temporarily disabled people and the elderly. According to various expert estimates, this is 20-25 percent of the population. On the agenda is the issue of the accessibility of beach areas and their infrastructure. Of the 170 city beaches, 68 are accessible, in 2023 40 ramps for beaches were purchased," said the First Deputy Mayor of Sochi Svetlana Kalinina.

As part of the new project, the list of accessible environment facilities, places of installation of ramps, lifts, accessibility of transport infrastructure and public transport, overground and underground crossings will be updated. Proposals for the development of inclusive tourism in Sochi are being prepared, new routes are being created, including in conjunction with the national park. Since last year, four inclusive routes "City Legends" have been implemented.
