According to the Researchers of the Caucasus Nature Reserve, the development of the summer and autumn season in 2019 was distinguished by some abnormal weather phenomena.

Last year a relatively warm and humid summer was observed. The average air temperature was more than the long-term norm and amounted to 18.5 ° C, with a norm of 17.2 ° C.

In addition, more than usual precipitation arrived amounting to 361.9 mm, with a long-term norm - 271.1 mm.

Warm and humid summer gave way to warm and dry autumn, said the reserve. The average air temperature for the autumn period was 9.1 ° C, while the norm was 8.7 ° C. And the total amount of precipitation was almost two times lower than the norm - 179.7 mm, (norm - 311.2 mm).

Scientists noted that all this provoked a secondary vegetation in ephemeroids and early flowering plant species. In November, blooming gosling hazels and cyclamen could be noticed.

Even more active blooming is observed near the Black Sea coast. In the yew-boxwood grove it is already possible to observe flowering glades of snowdrops, cyclamens, hellebores. According to experts, the latter blossomed 2 months ahead of schedule.

According to scientists, if frost does not hit Sochi and its environs, it is quite possible that flower buds of Sulange magnolias and Sakura can bloom ahead of time.
