The press service of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation reported that Russia and Kazakhstan consider tourism as one of the catalysts for economic activity in the regions. Last year, Kazakhstan ranked second in terms of the number of inbound tourist trips to Russia and third in terms of the number of outbound trips from Russia.

Among the implemented joint tourist routes are the "Flashed Meteor" tour with a visit to Omsk, Pavlodar and Almaty, the route along the Chagan River in the Orenburg region and the tour to the "Blue Lakes" in the Tyumen region.

The authorities of Russia and Kazakhstan plan not only to increase tourist traffic, but also to make sure that this traffic increases the incomes of the local population, creates jobs, and leads to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. The development of cross-border and interregional tourist routes is called upon to help get closer to achieving this goal.
