Two presented initiatives of the Norilsk Development Agency (ARN) – "From the depths of the MOUNTAIN" and "Attraction of Taimyr" - reached the national final of the X All–Russian tourist Award "Route of the Year".

ARN initiatives claim to win in the nominations "The best route of industrial tourism" and "The Best tourist guide".

"On the way to the first location, the tour guide tells the story of the development of Norilsk ores and the construction of the Norilsk combine. In the mine, tourists will have the opportunity to try on overalls and a self-rescuer with a miner's lantern, see how underground equipment works, learn how to operate a real drilling machine. After the tour, we will have a hearty lunch in the miner's canteen," said Ekaterina Boltacheva, a specialist in the Tourism Development direction of the ARN.

The guide "Attraction of Taimyr" contains fascinating texts about natural locations and the main attractions of the territory, about the flora and fauna of our peninsula, about available types of tourism and offers from local tour operators and tour bureaus.

The Norilsk Development Agency is the only participant of the "Route of the Year" from the Krasnoyarsk Territory, which passed into the national final of the prestigious industry award this year. A total of 176 such successful initiatives out of 307 projects proposed by the regions for the competition, sgnorilsk.ru reports.

The final events of the award will be held at the end of October in Ufa during the III International Forum on Ethnotourism.

Last year, the project presented by the Norilsk Development Agency, X-WATERS Plateau Putorana, was recognized as the best sports route in Siberia and celebrated the Grand Prix following the results of the IX All-Russian Tourist Award "Route of the Year".
