As part of the Eastern Economic Forum, which opened on September 5 in Vladivostok, Norilsk Nickel shared its experience in the development of Arctic projects.

Andrey Grachev, vice-president of the company, said that in 2026 Norilsk Nickel will complete the construction of a new village on Taimyr, designed for 600-700 people. The inhabitants of Tukhard will move there.

"Residents of Tukhard chose a place for a new settlement and determined its infrastructure. The construction of a new settlement for 600-700 people is planned to be completed in 2026," Grachev said, adding that the new location for the settlement was determined as part of the receipt of the FPIC of residents initiated by the company.

According to media reports, Norilsk Nickel was the first company to apply this procedure in the Arctic.

Norilsk Nickel actively supports the indigenous peoples of the North. The company's Indigenous Support Program includes about 40 events, in particular the company supports the "School of Public Diplomacy" for the northerners.
