The photo exhibition of the eco-volunteer project "Become a Member of the Eco Team", organised during the V Eastern Economic Forum and the Street of the Far East festival by the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, remained as a permanent exposition at the Far Eastern Federal University on Russky Island, says the report from the SUEK press service.
The exhibition showcases the best shots taken by volunteers in Special Protected Natural Areas of Russia: breathtaking landscapes, encounters with rare inhabitants and sights of the visited territories. Each image is accompanied by a QR code of the sites of Special Protected Natural Areas (SPNA). Visitors to the exhibition willingly took the opportunity to read the code using a smartphone, visited the sites of conservation areas and national parks, and learned how to repeat the journey the SUEK team.
The project designed to assist the conservation areas was developed by the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and SUEK. The areas under the project included: Lake Khanka in the Khankaysky nature reserve (Primorsky Province), Petrov Island (joint directorate of the Lazovsky Nature Reserve and «the Call of the Tiger» National Park, Primorsky Province), Cape Stolbchaty of Kurilsky nature reserve (Sakhalin Region), river valley Anyui (Zapovedny Priamurye, Khabarovsk Province), Lena Pillars National Park (Republic of Sakha), Bikin River Valley of the same-titled national park (Primorsky Territory), Komandorski Islands, Geyser Valley and lava pit of Uzon volcano of the Kronotsky Reserve (Kamchatka Province), ecological trail "Leopard trail" of the national park "Land of the Leopard" (Primorsky Province).
In June - October 2018, corporate volunteers enjoyed the nature of the most beautiful corners of the Far East while working, and the company provided additional funding for the development of environmental projects of conservation areas of federal significance. Thus, on the “Vostochny” cordon of the Khankaisky reserve, the volunteers provided their assistance in eliminating the consequences of the flood, which destroyed part of the infrastructure. A volunteer team working on Petrov Island completed garbage clearance on the coast and in Peschanaya Bay. On Cape Stolbchaty, reserve volunteers put up information signs that would help tourists to familiarise with the site.
