The press service of Glavgosexpertiza announced the issuance of a positive opinion on the installation of an artificial snowmaking system on the territory of the all-season tourist and recreational complex "Elbrus" in Kabardino-Balkaria. Within two years, the total number of snow cannons at the resort is planned to be increased from 20 to 200.
As expected, the installation of this system will allow not to be afraid of ski season disruptions due to the "whims" of the weather. Altitude characteristics of Elbrus and stable sub-zero temperatures make it possible to prepare snow already in October-early November.
The equipment to be installed is reliable and safe. It allows you to produce snow of perfect quality. A rational arrangement of equipment and round-the-clock monitoring of the operation of snow generators will make it possible to snow the ski slopes of Elbrus in the shortest possible time. In addition, the design of snow guns includes low-noise fans that will not have an excessive acoustic impact on the environment.
"The water intake unit will be located on the Baksan River. Pumping stations and a process pressure pipeline with a length of about 12.35 km will be taken from it, through which water will flow to hydraulic mats for connecting snow cannons on ski slopes.
