This year, the main work on the creation of the Yauza Park in Moscow, a recreational space from the Moscow Ring Road to the Rostokinsky Aqueduct with access to the Losiny Ostrov National Park, the Main Botanical Garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences named after N.V. Tsitsin, Sokolniki Park and VDNKh, will be completed. This was announced in his blog by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, the park will have five main routes - pedestrian and recreational, cycling, sports and running, ecological and educational, and historical and cultural.

“Yauza Park is a specially protected natural area. This means that caring for its biodiversity and the integrity of flora and fauna is one of the key tasks of the implemented project. The length of the ecological and educational route is about 14 kilometers. The eco-trail is raised above the ground, so people do not interfere with the growth of flowers and grasses, do not disturb the animals living in the park and can observe them in their natural habitat,” Sobyanin said.

According to him, in particularly picturesque places of the floodplains of the Yauza and Cheryomyanka rivers, there are observation platforms where you can sit on sun loungers, benches or swings, relax and enjoy the surrounding beauties.

An innovative eco-center "Yauza" operates in the park, where they talk about the ecological professions of the future.

The historical and cultural route will introduce visitors to the historical sites on the banks of the Yauza.

For children, more than 50 different playgrounds have been renovated and equipped. Dog owners can exercise their pets on new and renovated grounds.

During a bike ride along the more than 17-kilometer route, part of which passes along the high bank of the Yauza, you can admire the floodplain of the river. The total length of running tracks is over 20 kilometers, so marathons can be held there, the mayor noted. Various sports grounds are located along the way, where you can train.

More than 90 sports grounds with various equipment and exercise machines have been created and renovated in the park. Some are specially equipped for the elderly, while others are designed for trained athletes. According to Sobyanin, it was in the "Yauza" that a modern workout platform in the style of "Russian ninja" first appeared.

“Wherever possible, full-fledged sports clusters were created with skate parks, pump tracks, playgrounds for team sports, workout areas and strength training equipment,” the mayor said.

There are also separate playgrounds in the park for playing table tennis and tennis, volleyball and basketball, places with exercise machines with adjustable load levels and for workout. And there is also a dirt track in the Yauza. This is a specialized track with earthen obstacle hills for BMX or mountain biking.

“In previous years, we have put in order 13 sections with a total area of over 320 hectares. Today, Yauza Park is more than 40 kilometers of landscaped promenades and transit trails. The former are intended for leisurely walks in the picturesque places of the park, and the latter connect the functional zones and entrances to the park with the main routes by the shortest route,” Sobyanin noted.
