Krasnodar region is the leader among the regions of Russia in terms of the total number of tourists received. Moscow is in second place, and St. Petersburg closes the top three, MegaFon experts found out based on the analysis of anonymized subscriber data.

Dagestan and Tatarstan are also among the five most popular regions.

At the same time, the Murmansk Region became the leader in the growth of attendance last summer, which was visited by 39% more Russians than in the same period last year.

First of all, tourists were interested in fishing lakes in the region - Voche-Lambina, Imandra, Chunozero and others, as well as the Kola River, where rafting for extreme sports enthusiasts is organized.

Next in the all-Russian rating is the Amur Region (+17%), where one of the main points of attraction was the Vostochny cosmodrome. Dagestan showed a similar growth (+17%). Here Russians are especially attracted to Tarki-Tau Mountain, Sulak Canyon and Sarykum dune.

The Trans-Baikal Territory and the Kaliningrad Region added 16% each. In Transbaikalia, in summer, tourists visited the Ivano-Arachley Lakes system, the Alkhanai National Park and the Tuzhi Land Art Park. In the Kaliningrad region, travelers were particularly attracted to Immanuel Kant Island in the center of the capital of the region, the resort village of Otradnoye and the resort town of Zelenogradsk.

The regions with the most actively traveling residents at the end of the summer were Moscow (a decrease of 2% year-on-year), St. Petersburg (+2%) and Samara (+5%): their residents visited other parts of the country most often.

The top five also included tourists from Ugra (+5.5%) and Bashkiria (+7%).
