The Ministry of Tourism (MoT) Government of India, together with the UT Administration of Ladakh have organised a special three-day event to promote adventure tourism in the region starting from August 25.

The event, being organised with the support of Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), will see around 75 tour operators representing all the leading travel and tourism trade associations participating in discussions, B2B meetings and FAM trips to promote the region as an adventure tourism hub.

Called, ‘Ladakh: New Start, New Goals’, the event will see the entire top brass of the Tourism Ministry descending in Leh for the event. The event will start with a B2B event where tour operators from other parts of the country will have the opportunity to interact with the local trade and industry.

As a specialist association, ATOAI is coordinating the conference part and the speakers for the conference sessions. As per the programme, there will be sessions on ‘Holistic development of Tourism in Ladakh with focus on connectivity, infrastructure and sustainability', which will be moderated by ADG - Tourism.

The session on Adventure Tourism Opportunities, Challenges, Imperatives etc will be moderated by Col. J Dhillon. There will be a discussion on Homestay Tourism in Ladakh which will be moderated by Jaideep Bansal, COO, Global Himalayan Expedition.
The Ministry of Tourism had organised a similar event in Srinagar in April to promote tourism in Kashmir.
