A surprise worth millions of euros was received by some Greek retail chains for falsifying the "Santa's Basket" campaign. Fines with six zeros were imposed on unscrupulous sellers by the Greek Ministry of Development.

On the eve of the New Year holidays, by agreement between merchants and the authorities of the country, prices for popular products and industrial goods should be reduced. The "Santa's Basket" campaign is designed to please residents of the country and numerous tourists concerned about the sharp rise in prices in the country, especially on the eve of the winter holidays.

However, cunning merchants, instead of a real reduction in the cost of goods, tried to deceive customers by exposing ordinary prices under the guise of discount prices. As a result, the regulatory authorities imposed fines of one million euros and above on unscrupulous traders. And I must say that after such a "surprise from Santa Claus" prices went down in the most fabulous way: for grocery products, the drop is fixed within 5%, and for some industrial goods, the price reduction reaches up to 25%.
