The Day of the Altai Republic is marked by its opening for tourists - today numerous camp sites and hotels resume their work here. The day before, at a meeting of the operational headquarters to counteract the spread of coronavirus infection, the head of the republic, Oleg Khorokhordin, announced the mitigation of a number of restrictive measures, primarily tourism infrastructure and catering facilities.

“Thus, starting from July 3, we open the summer tourist season in the republic,” he emphasized. “But all tourist facilities and public catering enterprises must strictly comply with the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor.”

However, most of the programs that tour operators offer in the republic are not tied to their locations. Various tours - by horse, car and water activities offered along the rivers of Altai - are popular.

In the neighboring Altai Territory, restrictions were lifted already on June 27, when more than 200 cafes and restaurants as well as about 190 rural guest houses, more than 170 camp sites and recreational facilities, and about 200 hotels resumed their work. Sanatoriums with a medical license began working on June 8th.
