In the Engels district of the Saratov region, near the landing site of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin and the Park of Space Explorers, it is planned to create a year-round tourist complex for active and family holidays. This was announced on its website by the corporation "Tourism. The Russian Federation", with the support of which the project is being implemented.

The Gagarin Constellation tourist complex will be located near the Volga River, between the villages of Uzmorye and Smelovka.

"The project of the future family complex is focused on the development of scientific, educational and sports tourism, the study of the history of space exploration and the biography of the first cosmonaut," the message says.

It is planned to build a hotel complex with 80 rooms and 40 guest houses. As a result, about 150 additional jobs are expected to be created.

The commissioning of the facility is scheduled for the end of 2026.

According to the information on the website of the Engels district, in 2012 the place of Gagarin's landing was classified as cultural objects of federal significance and received the status of a "place of interest". The excursion route "Our city is the space harbor of the first cosmonaut of the planet" leads here.
