This couple was transferred to the Center from the zoo in 2012 and bore young more than once, including three cubs. It should be noted that the predators are already old: the male is 17 years old, the female is 15 years old. This is probably the last or penultimate (may not survive) offspring of this pair.
According to the Sochi National Park, the baby and mother are doing well. Two months later, during the first vaccination the kitten will be given a nickname.
Over the past five years, the leopards of the center have eight offspring, their total number amounted to 20.
To date, four Caucasian leopards already live in the wild nature of the Caucasus. In the near future six more will be released into the wild. To restore the population of rare predators in the Caucasus, it is necessary to have 50 individuals in the wild.
