21k pines planted in the Russian North National Park

Almost 21 thousand pine seedlings were planted on a total area of ​​more than five hectares in the Russian North National Park located in the Vologda region as part of the all-Russian autumn campaign «Live, forest!».

The event was attended by the representatives of government, forestry workers and schoolchildren, according to the report from the department of the Vologda region forestry complex.

The all-Russian autumn campaign “Live, forest!”, which was launched at the beginning of the school year, will last until October 31. This year it is planned to plant more than 160 thousand seedlings of trees on more than 50 hectares. This campaign is held in the spring and autumn at the initiative of the Federal Forestry Agency. It is held for the eighth consecutive year, and Vologda residents are always active participants.

During this time, the territories of the «SOS Children Village - Vologda", the Regional Children's Clinical Hospital, the territory near the Soldiers' House and school number 2 in Gryazovets were improved with green areas; the territory of the Russian North National Park in the Kirillovsky forestry and Mikhaltsevskaya grove in the Vologda region were cleared. 

The "Alley of the great travellers of the world" along the ecological trail at the Trinity Chapel in the Totemsky district was set up, under the initiative cedars were planted near the Military Commissariat in Sokol, maples and pines were also planted in the Osanovskaya Grove in Vologda.

In total, about 606 thousand trees were planted on ​​more than 280 hectares within the forest estate and on about 37 hectares within settlements - in parks, squares and along the paths, 462 hectares of forest were freed from litter. Over the eight years of the initiative, about 10 thousand residents of Vologda took part in all these events.
