Travel Without Borders! The 4th Travel Forum Opens Up a World of Possibilities
The Republic of Karelia will hold the International Christmas Forum of Winter Tourism from December 11 to 14, 2019. The event is organized by the Federal Agency for Tourism and the Tourism Department of the Republic of Karelia.
The main aim of the Forum is to give proposals for inbound and domestic winter tourism, to present the best practices that contribute to the development of regions, including the northern territories.
The Forum’s business program will hold plenary sessions, strategic sessions, discussions and sections, it will embrace the most challenging issues of the tourism, including: winter tourism trends based on the geographical and tourist potential of Russian regions; tour operator aspects of the development of ecotourism; digital technologies in the field of tourism development, marketing and event organization; winter tourism export potential and business acceleration; development of transport accessibility of protected areas infrastructure; tools to reduce seasonal flows in tourist destinations; development of off-season tourism; creative, geological and scientific tourism; MICE-tourism as a driver of regional development; folk arts and crafts as a driver for the development of specially protected natural areas and other pressing issues.
The Forum program includes, among other things, a presentation of the potential for the development of winter types of tourism, and during the discussions, participants will try to develop key parameters for a successful winter tourist product for territories in the Arctic zone.
During the official part of the event, a presentation of the tourist calendar of events of the Republic of Karelia for 2020 will be showcased, as well as an extensive cultural and educational program, including a Christmas tour of Petrozavodsk, an exhibition-presentation "Karelian New Year's Gifts", an exhibition-presentation of winter tourist equipment , gastronomic festival "Kitchen of winter Karelia", an excursion to the estate of Karelian Santa Claus Talvi Ukko.
Representatives of federal and regional government bodies in the field of tourism, culture and sports, representatives of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation included in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, foreign representatives of the tourism sector, experts in the field of tourism, sports, gastronomy, representatives of industry public organizations and associations, representatives of the scientific community, tour operators and travel agencies, leading hoteliers and restaurateurs, representatives of the restaurant business and media are invited to participate in the event.
